Island Blue's Sketchbook Contest Winners

Earlier this year, we invited the Grade Twelve students from our local high schools to submit artwork for consideration for a series of limited edition sketchbooks that Island Blue would produce and sell through the Art Store. Students were asked to create artwork that was inspired by their neighborhoods. Three artworks were chosen and they are featured above. Our judges for the contest were Ellen Manning, Director of the Victoria Emerging Art Gallery and Mike Shemilt, President of Island Blue. It was difficult to choose as all of the artwork submitted was outstanding. The winning artists and their attending schools were awarded a gift of artist materials.

The chosen artwork will be on display in our Art Store for the month of July. The sketchbooks will be ready for resale in August and $1.00 from the sale of each sketchbook will be donated to the Mustard Seed Food Bank.
